It's Kitten Season

If you think we're the only species that's noticed the wonderful weather, please think again. Kitten season is upon us already!

That's why United Paws is begging people to adopt a cat (or three!) at our Adoptorama on Feb. 27 at the 4-H Dorm at the Tillamook County Fairgrounds, 4603 East Third St., from noon to 3 p.m.

You don't have to wait for the Adoptorama to adopt, though. Just visit unitedpaws.org to see all our lovely pets in foster care. Then, call (503) 842-5663 to schedule a private rendezvous with whomever you take a fancy to.

Tillamook Animal Shelter dogs will be at the Adoptorama also, as long as the weather is fine (call 503-812-0105 to check).

United Paws is Tillamook County's volunteer-based, spay/neuter advocacy group, dedicated to alleviating and preventing the suffering of animals as a result of homelessness. Since 2004, we've given almost 1,000 abandoned, neglected and abused cats and dogs their "second chance" at love.

If you need financial assistance to spay or neuter your dog or cat, or if you're caring for unsterilized, free-roaming cats in your neighborhood, call (503) 842-5663; United Paws is here to help as long as we have the funds. Since we rely on donations, please send any amount to United Paws, P.O. Box 159, Tillamook, OR 97141.

It's absolutely imperative that we adopt all kitties currently in foster care into loving, "forever" homes as soon as possible - we need space for the inevitable kittens.

Please don't let your cat or dog breed. Please adopt, don't buy, a pet.

And if you can foster a litter of motherless kittens, an abandoned mother cat and her kittens, or just one kitten, cat, puppy or dog, please contact United Paws at (503) 842-5663.
